These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Chandas mobile application (the “Application”), provided by Yukti (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading or using Chandas, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.
Chandas is a configurable interval timer that can play bells, gongs, and alarms; display notifications and full-screen alarm alerts; continue an active timer in the background; observe configured active hours; and optionally manage an Android Do Not Disturb rule during focus sessions.
Chandas is provided for general productivity and personal timekeeping. It is not intended for emergency response, medical treatment, medication reminders, industrial control, personal safety, or any other use that requires guaranteed timing or notification delivery.
Subject to these Terms, Yukti grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use Chandas on devices you own or control.
You agree not to:
Chandas depends on Android, device hardware, battery state, notification channels, system volume, Do Not Disturb settings, background-execution rules, and permissions you control. Alerts may be delayed, suppressed, interrupted, or unavailable because of system behavior, device settings, software updates, battery restrictions, hardware failure, or other circumstances outside Yukti’s control.
Alarm mode and focus sessions may produce audible alerts or display over the lock screen. You are responsible for choosing suitable settings, testing them on your device, maintaining adequate battery power, and ensuring that notifications and alarms are permitted. Do not rely on Chandas as your only alarm or notification method when failure could cause injury, damage, or significant loss.
If you grant Do Not Disturb access, Chandas may create and control an Android automatic rule for focus sessions. You can disable the feature in Chandas or revoke access in Android settings at any time.
Timer settings and active-session state are stored locally on your device. Your use of Chandas is also governed by the Chandas Privacy Policy, which describes local storage, permissions, application updates, and data handling.
You are responsible for securing your device and controlling access to it. Clearing application storage or uninstalling Chandas deletes locally stored settings and session state.
Chandas relies on third-party platforms and services, including Android, Google Play, and Expo Application Services. Those services may be governed by their own terms and policies, including the Google Terms of Service and Expo Terms of Service.
We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or changes they make that affect Chandas.
We may provide updates that add, change, or remove features, fix defects, or maintain compatibility and security. Some updates may be delivered through Google Play and others through Expo’s application-update service. Continued use of Chandas after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Application.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue Chandas or any feature at any time. We do not guarantee that Chandas will always be available, compatible with every device or Android version, or supported indefinitely.
Chandas is currently provided without charge. If paid features or charges are introduced, they will be disclosed before you are required to pay.
Chandas, including its software, design, text, graphics, sounds, branding, and other content, is owned by Yukti or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Chandas or its intellectual property to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chandas is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that every timer event, notification, or alarm will occur at an exact time.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yukti will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, opportunities, or use, arising from or related to Chandas.
Yukti is not liable for missed, delayed, silenced, or interrupted timer events, notifications, or alarms, or for actions taken based on them. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
You may stop using Chandas at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or restrict your right to use the Application if you materially violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, and liability provisions, will survive.
We may revise these Terms when Chandas’s features, business practices, or legal obligations change. Revised Terms will be published at this location with a new effective date. Your continued use of Chandas after revised Terms take effect means that you accept them.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. These Terms and the Chandas Privacy Policy constitute the agreement between you and Yukti concerning the Application, subject to any additional terms imposed by the app store through which you obtained it.
